From Finance Bro to Yogi: The Journey Within

I had everything I thought I ever wanted. A good job, a condo by the water, my health, my physique, but something was missing. I was not actually happy. I was constantly chasing all-night parties, self-medicating with alcohol and cannabis and I would do anything and everything possible to avoid facing the deepest parts of myself. My quack doctor was prescribing me Adderall for my inability to focus, Klonopin for my anxiety, and Ambien to help me sleep. I was numb. Void of feeling. 


In 2014, I was first introduced to Yoga and to the work of Wim Hof where I learned about breathwork and getting comfortable being uncomfortable. This sent me down a rabbit hole of study and practice that led me to understanding how I could use my breath to control my state of being. I felt I had just unlocked a cheat code. For the first time, I was able to regulate my nervous system myself. It was that moment I realized the power I could access on-demand. We all have this ability; to control our energy. And there is no need for external pills or substances to do it for us.



For the last 10 years my study of the breath has taken me to so many places and filled me with so much wisdom and truth. Blending Eastern Mysticism with Modern Science and Flow States, the breath is the catalyst for so much of our life experience, whether we are conscious of it, or not. 


The breath is unique because we will do it without trying, and we can choose to do it intentionally. 

We can go 30 days without food, 8 days without water, but only a few minutes without air. This is how important our ability to take deep breaths is. Like anything else, it is a muscle we can train. Here are a few reasons we should be training our ability to breath:


  • Helps us access flow states and creativity

  • Relaxes our nervous system and reduces anxiety

  • Increases our energy and vitality

  • Eliminates toxins in the body

  • Connects us to the creator, source, God, the field, the universe (whatever you want to call it)
